The space before construction: 16 feet by 24 feet, 6.9 inches in height
Jack hammered the ferring strips into the concrete foundation walls, then adhered the wall damp strips to the ferring strips
Install Wall Damp RC pads onto the stud frame wall and ceiling joist: where the DRC 1 channel-(stud frame wall) and the DRC 2 channel -(ceiling joist) will be screwed into those structures. I packed in 20 rolls of R-30 imsulation into the frame cavities of the ceiling and wall.
R-30 was not used on the poured concrete foundation walls; those walls utilize ASC's RetroFit Damp Wall application.
Installation of RetroFit Wall Damp squares installed between 1/2" and 5/8" sheet rock:
This is my second studio built with ASC's Iso Wall/Ceiling Installation kit; my first fmrje studio was built in 2003. The FF2 project began in mid January 2018, a week later the Acoustic Sciences products were delivered. I use 36 pieces of 8'x4' 1/2" and 36 pieces of 8'x4' 5/8" sheet rock to construct the the ceiling and walls; 1000 wall damp squares were checkerboard-sandwiched between the 1/2" and 5/8" sheetrock layers for the ceiling and walls. The studio was fully completed on March 29. The installation of acoustic foam panels and bass traps with ASC's retrofit Damp walls, ISO ceiling/wall installation kit, has given me a perfect sounding room for my jam recording sessions.
Jam On !
